Thank you for visiting! I love writing picture books and chapter/early middle-grade books. And I am a huge fan of YA and love finding books I cannot put down.
My first picture book, ALL BEARS NEED LOVE, (Houghton Mifflin Harcourt) addresses the comments, questions, and curiosities my family experienced during the adoption of our son. Click the ALL BEARS NEED LOVE tab at the top of the page to learn more a watch the trailer.
I’m beyond excited that my latest picture book, MAKE ROOM FOR LITTLE TACO TRUCK, (Schwartz & Wade/Random House) will be available in 2018. Working with Schwartz & Wade has been amazing and I can’t wait to see how Jorge Martin brings my little trucks to life!
Publisher’s Weekly Rights Report: Week of January 9, 2017
Stephanie Pitts at Schwartz & Wade acquired, and Lee Wade will edit, Tanya Valentine’s Make Room for Little Taco Truck, illustrated by Jorge Martin, a picture book about a taco truck looking for his place among the other food trucks in the big city. It’s scheduled for summer 2018; Linda Epstein at Emerald City Literary Agency represented the author and Anne Moore Armstrong at Bright USA represented the illustrator in the deal for world rights.
After earning my film degree I worked in script development for many years before moving into the world of non profit and early literacy. These experiences, along with years of foster/adoptive/biological parenting, lead to my love of writing for children. I am currently an active member of SCBWI and The Atlanta Writer’s Club.
